Brock Franklin, 31, was found guilty on human trafficking, sexual exploitation of a child, child prostitution, and kidnapping charges in March, FOX 31 Denver reports, for operating a sex trafficking ring that preyed upon women and children.
Franklin was sentenced to 472 years in prison which is the longest sentence in United States History for a human trafficking case.
Prosecutors said Franklin was violent and used drugs to lure his victims. The actual trafficking act took place at various motels in the Denver where he sold their services online and forced his victims to have sex with him as well.
I can’t begin to even explain what he did to my life,” Brehannah Leary, one of Franklin's nine victims, said in court on Tuesday. “Reading it today, and speaking and actually saying how I felt, and him having hearing and have to sit there and listen and listen to me, that brought me so much joy and that’s why I came today.
”Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery. This crime occurs when a trafficker uses force, fraud or coercion to control another person for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex acts or soliciting labor or services against his/her will.
