11 Persons Shot Including a 6-Y-O Child In St James, Four Confirmed Dead

Eleven people were reportedly shot in Area one last night resulting in the deaths of four of them. This morning, the Corporate Communications Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, was only able to provide limited information on three of the deaths in St James.

Its said a man and a woman were killed shortly before 10 o’clock last night. Its also said a man, known only known by alias Jamar, was killed about a hour-and-a-half later.

The news team understands that a 17-year-old mother of a two-month old baby was among those killed last night. It’s also understood that a 6 year old child was also shot and is currently hospitalized. 


The St. James police are investigating circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man and a woman along the Howard Cooke Boulevard in Montego Bay St. James last night (Tues).

The names of the victims have not been released.

Reports are that about 9:30 last night (Tues), both victims were traveling in a Honda Stream motorcar along the Howard Cooke Boulevard from the direction of downtown Montego Bay, towards the Freeport Police Station.

On reaching a section of the highway, another vehicle with several men aboard, pulled up beside them. The men brandished handguns and open fire on occupants of the car, hitting them to the upper body.

The vehicle then sped away. The driver of the Honda motorcar lost control of the vehicle, which slammed into a pickup truck and then crashed into a tree along the side of the roadway.

Upon arrival of the police both victims were rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
