Jamaican Woman Smuggle Weed in Bread To Barbados

A Jamaican woman who attempted to smuggle ganja in breads to Barbados, is facing three years in prison, if she is unable to pay a B$30,000 fine. 

Charged is 20-year-old hairdresser, Chantel Shauna-Lee Whyte.

Whyte pleaded guilty to possession of ganja and trafficking of ganja, when she appeared in the District B Magistrate's Court recently. She was fined $15,000 for each offence. The sentences are to run concurrently if the fines are not paid.

 According to the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation, Whyte was convicted, reprimanded and discharged for intent to supply and reprimanded and discharged for importation of the drugs

According to the Barbadian police, Whyte arrived in Barbados from Jamaica one evening when she was interviewed by police, searched and a cardboard box containing two packs of bread with five pounds of ganja inside, was found.
