Businessman Beheads His Child’s Mother; Says He Did it Out of Love

Businessman Trevor Taffe who decapitated 26-year-old higgler Nicole Heron – the mother of his child – has been convicted of her murder.

Taffe, who was represented by attorney-at-law Kieth Bishop, is to be sentenced on July 28 by Justice Evan Brown, who presided at the trial.

The prosecution, represented by Melony Domville, led evidence that Heron went to Taffe’s home in Havendale, St Andrew on April 3.

The court was told that when she did not return home her family filed a missing person report with the police.

A police team headed by Detective Superintendent Vernal Thompson and Sergeant Richard Graham visited the businessman’s house and conducted a search of the premises and found burnt articles of female clothing.

The police said during the search, they found Heron’s decomposing body with several stab wounds floating in a septic pit.

The police said the body was identified by family members and through DNA.

Following the discovery, Taffe was arrested and charged.

In his defence, the businessman said he loved the mother of his child very much and that he would never hurt her.
