A 21-year-old Navagia Gray was shot dead and two persons shot and injured during a dispute over garbage with a male neighbor in Carlton Mountain district near Claremont in St Ann on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Navagia Gray of Carlton Mountain.
According to reports, a dog that frequents both yards brought garbage from Gray's home into that of the male neighbor sometime after 11 am.
The incident reportedly infuriated the man and an argument developed between him and Gray, along with other occupants of her household.
The man reportedly left and returned with a gun, with which he opened fire, hitting Gray and two others.
He then fled the scene.
The wounded persons were assisted to hospital, where Gray died. The other persons were admitted for treatment.
The killing has left the community in shock, as it was suggested by residents that it was a peaceful area.
Meanwhile, several persons took to social media to express their sadness at the death of Gray.
"Can't believe we talk this morning (Tuesday) And here i am now getting calls saying that you passed away," wrote a male Facebook user.
"You're a friend in a million and forever have a special place in my heart. I really and truly value our friendship. Whether we're together or miles apart. Death may have taken you away, but it could never take away the memories.

Another social media user shared: "Dem pull di trigger dem take u life. Me likkle sister u leave me in a pain that’s unstoppable. Mi heart a pain mi , mi heart beat mi… mi shining star. If it’s not u sis, then is who?"
Meanwhile, the St Ann police are appealing to the alleged attacker to turn himself in for questioning.
