A family is homeless following the alleged rape and physical abuse of a seven-year-old girl in the St. Andrew Central division of the Constabulary.
Grandmother of the abused child says her family has been driven from their home after the perpetrators threatened their lives.
She also claims that thugs from the area have intimidated her and discouraged any involvement of the police.
She says the matter was reported to the JCF and Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) but is fearful as the alleged perpetrator is still at large in the community.
She argues that complaints made to the Member of Parliament hoping for some remorse or mercy were to no avail. She continues her plea.
A correspondent at CISOCA confirmed having knowledge of the case in question but
was unable to provide us with any details.
We were told that the case is being investigated but our efforts to speak with the investigating officer proved futile.
Identities of family members are being withheld as investigation continues.
