Cop Charged For Having Sexual Relationship; Possible Raping a 13-Y-O Girl

A police district constable, who is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl, was hit with criminal charges on Tuesday, following a ruling by the director of public prosecutions (DPP) in St. James.

The accused 35-year-old cop who is from Farm Heights in St James surrendered to the police on Tuesday on two arrest warrants for grievous sexual assault and rape.

According to reports, the 13-year-old victim is a friend of one of the cop’s family members, with whom he built a friendship through social media.

The officer and the minor reportedly met in downtown Montego Bay, where he picked her up and drove to a section of Kent Avenue, where he allegedly held her down and raped her.

The matter was brought to the attention of the police, and the child was taken to the Type V Clinic in Montego Bay, where it was confirmed that she had been sexually assaulted.

A file was then prepared and sent to the DPP, who ruled that the constable should be charged.
