KC's Cousin Speaks Out About The Murder/Suicide Having Two Sides

On 10 April 2019, evil takes over the hands and mind of a good man. A man who loved his friends and a man who would do anything for his families.

A man who sacrificed a lot, so that his family could be happy, and a man who always provide guidance/mentorship, reminding us to do what is right. This is why this incident is shocking to me. The name of this man is Patrick Gowans, aka KC.

Before I get started, I want to briefly tell everyone about me, I am a man of truth and justice. THAT IS ALL, IT IS THAT SIMPLE! If someone I love (families or friends) did something wrong, I have no problem looking him or her in the eyes and let them know that what they did is wrong. If KC were here today, I would have done the same. I would look him in the eyes and tell him that what he did on 10 April is wrong.

The reason I am writing this is because a lot is being said about my cousin on social media, i.e., he is evil, he is wicked, he was always abusive, his wife was divorcing him after years of abuse, etc. I am not mad at anyone who said or believe these things because they react to what they know.

I am not writing this to persuade anyone to accept either party, but I think it is fair to hear Patrick side of what happened. Furthermore, any man who takes advantage of a woman, or anyone inferior to him is weak and this is wrong; this rule also applies to women who take advantage of others as well.

First I want to give my condolences to the families and friends of Deshanay Clarke, and specifically, her daughter, my baby cousin (do not want to list her name) who saw everything. Wherever you are cuz, I want you to know that your father loved you, and so does all of us, his families.

I have a question for everyone, and no, I am not looking for a comment, but look yourself in the mirror, ask yourself this question and think hard about it.

  • If you were to travel temporarily in a foreign to work to provide more bread for your family, and upon returning home you found out that your spouse, of over 15 years of marriage, was having an affair.
  • She gets pregnant by another man (who is also married).
  • She moved out of the house to live with the married man.
  • Having left both you and your 12-year-old child at home alone.
  • Later emptied your joint bank account with all your money.

What would you have done about it? Patrick Gowans find himself in this situation.

The last thing I want to do is to say anything wrong about Mrs. Deshanay Clarke, but someone needs to hear Mr. Patrick Gowans side of what happened, that lead to the murder/suicide on 10 April.

I have met Deshanay many times, and I loved her and accepted her as my cousin. May her soul rest in peace.
I know they were having issues because a few weeks/maybe over a month ago, Patrick called me and informed me that his wife was having an affair with another man, when he was in the US working, and that she gets pregnant by him.

He also said she moved out of the house leaving him and his 12-year-old daughter.

I asked him what he was planning on doing about it, and he told me he does not want to be with her, and that he will file for a divorce. I said, “Ok cuz, I know how you are feeling, but don’t do anything stupid.” He said, “Cuz trust me; I would not jeopardize my career for her after what she did.” Occasionally I called to check on him to see how things were going, to see if things were getting better or worst.

On Sunday, 7 April 2019, three days before the incident, I called Patrick to see how things were going with him and Deshanay, and he said, “Cuz, I am over her, there is no way I would take her back after what she did, and I already file for the divorce; I also reported the situation to the guy supervisor that she is cheating with.” We talk for approximately 30 minutes and he was planning to move to the U.S. to start a new life.

He did not sound angry, did not show any signs of jealousy, or any signs that he wants to be back with his wife. On 10 April, I received a phone call from another one of my cousins, at approximately 9 am, and I was shocked to hear what had happened.

I was not aware it would lead to this. Something pushes him over the edge. He was over his wife and wanted to move on. His wife cheated, get pregnant by another man, moved out of their house, leaving him and his 12-year daughter at home alone, and that did not cause him to lose control; only GOD knows.

What causes him to snap, is it because she emptied his bank account, knowing she will be spending his almost 30 years of savings on another man? Only GOD knows.

What causes a man or woman to do things they have not done before? Only GOD knows. How much stress can one person take before they break and do the things they usually do not do? Only GOD knows. What would you do if you were in this situation?

At the end of the day, what Patrick did was wrong, but something happened that morning, that caused him to snap. Patrick is a man who would do anything, for anyone, at any time, and look for nothing in return. He would without a doubt laid down his life for this friends and families.

This is the story Patrick Gowans shared with me.

If you find yourself in this situation, please walk away, pray about it, and seek help. The Almighty GOD will provide for you.
RIP my cousin; I will always be grateful to everything you have done for me. You will be missed!

I Love you always!
