A police team is now at a crime scene on the Mona Campus of the University of the West Indies where a body was discovered.
The woman whose body was found this morning at the University of the West Indies, Mona has been identified as 69-year-old Judith Rose-Spencer, a medical doctor at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI).
Rose-Spencer lived on Great House Boulevard in Mona, St Andrew.
Her body was seen submerged in a pond located in the vicinity of the UWI Chapel about 7:45 a.m.
The police say the body has since been taken to the morgue where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Scores of students and onlookers gathered at the crime scene this morning as news of the discovery spread across the campus.
