A 17-year-old boy who reportedly pulled an illegal firearm at his father and then fired one shot at him in Inverness district, in Clarendon on Thursday was taken into custody by the police and charged.
The name of the accused teenager is been withheld.
According to reports by the police, about 8:45 a.m., on Thursday, the accused teen and his father were at home when an argument developed between the two.
During the dispute, the accused reportedly brandished a handgun and discharged a single round at his father, luckily it missed and the elderly man managed to escape unhurt.
The elderly man then went and made a report to the police, and upon the arrival of the lawmen, a search of the teen’s room led to the seizure of three live 9-mm rounds.
Following a search in the community, the teen was captured and a homemade handgun was taken from him.
He was arrested and taken into custody.
