A three weeks old baby girl, Vernesha Evans, who went missing from the Cornwall Regional Hospital on Friday January 4 at about 1:50 p.m. by an unknown woman has been found.
In our first report, the mother reportedly left the child with the woman (right in the image) while she went to use the bathroom.
Shortly after returning, she discovered that the woman and her baby were missing.
An alarm was raised where security on the compound made several checks but the woman nor the infant could be found.
A quick response by the Montego Bay Police, who are thankful for the gracious actions of good citizens who contacted them, resulting in the stolen three weeks old baby girl being found in Greens district, Norwood, St. James on Sunday, January 06.
Reports are that about 11:00 a.m., the Officers got information and went to a premises in the community where the suspect, a 26-year-old bartender was seen with the baby.
She was subsequently taken into custody along with her boyfriend who was also at the house.
The baby is currently being medically examined.
