Gunmen went on a rampage in Clarendon last evening leaving two men dead and six persons injured.
Those killed have been identified as Jerome Ellis, also known as ‘Platinum’, a 37-year-old sound system operator, and Winston Bent, 26, also known as ‘Buju’.
Since the start of the year, more than 113 persons have been reported killed in Clarendon.
According to reports, Bent and Ellis were among several patrons gathered at a shop in the community of Canaan Heights shortly after 8p.m.
It’s reported that two men approached the shop and sprayed the patrons with bullets before escaping on foot.
When the shooting ended, eyewitnesses say six persons were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
It’s believed that Ellis and Bent died on the spot.
Four persons, including a female, were reportedly taken to the May Pen Hospital, with at least one of them said to be in serious condition.
Ellis was the owner of the Platinum sound system.
On October 16 this year, Shawn Sutton, the ‘selector’ on the Platinum sound system, was shot and killed along Juno Crescent, in May Pen.
Reports are that two other persons were shot and injured in unrelated incidents in Crofts Hill and Havannah Heights Phase 2.
