Hanover, Jamaica — The decomposing body of a woman, believed to be that of 72-year-old Nancy Hardy, an American National that went missing from her Jamaican home in Negril, Westmoreland on November 24, was discovered in a shallow grave in Green Island, Hanover on Tuesday afternoon.
Ms. Hardy who hails from Amherst in Massachusetts, in the United States of America, was reported missing from her home in Whitehall, Negril on Saturday, November 24.
According to reports by the Negril police, about 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, a friend of the elderly American woman went to visit her at her Jamaican residence in Whitehall and discovered that she was missing.
A report was made to the police and a search carried out for her, which proved futile.
On Tuesday afternoon, a resident living in Green Island, Hanover, stumbled upon what appeared to be a shallow grave at a section of bushes and went to investigate.
The grave was discovered to contain the decomposed body of a female. The police who were later summoned, say based on investigations, they now believe that the body is that of the missing foreign national.
Hardy is of brown complexion, slim built and about 5ft-4ins tall. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a multicolored T-shirt and black shorts.
