Woman Arrested After 'Mistakenly' Stabbing Another to Death in St Ann

Jamaica Crime News, St Ann: One woman is now in police custody after she reportedly stabbed another female to death, who she mistakenly identified as her boyfriend’s lover in Belair district, St Ann.

Reports are that shortly after 7:00 a.m., Trecia Myrie, (the accused woman) went to her boyfriend’s home at a section of Belair district known as Crocodile City, after getting news that another woman was at his house.

Upon entering the house, she saw the female lying in bed and reportedly brandished a knife and attacked her.

During the confrontation, the accused reportedly stabbed the female multiple times to her upper body.

Residents alerted the police and upon arrival, the accused was taken into custody, and the wounded female transported to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Following an investigation, the accused woman was sent into shock when she learnt that the female who she stabbed to death, was actually her boyfriend’s best friend woman.

It was also disclosed that the accused woman’s boyfriend, had loaned his room to his friend, who had invited his girlfriend over and she was mistakenly stabbed to death.

The Run-Away Bay police are presently carrying out an investigation into this latest murder.
