Clarendon, Jamaica — A 16-year-old boy is dead and his mother and sister hospitalised with burns and chop wounds following a domestic dispute in Stewarton, Mocho, Clarendon early Wednesday morning.
The dead teen has been identified as Leroy Hamilton, a student of Central High school in the parish.
According to reports, the family was attacked by a man armed with a machete and their house set ablaze.
Leroy's remains were found inside the house by firefighters conducting cooling down operations.
Our news team understands that the accused attacker was found dead in another section of the community.
He has been identified as 41-year-old Clayton Lawrence. Mr Lawrence is believed to have committed suicide.
According to RJR NEWS, He is said to have been in a rocky relationship with Leroy's sister.
Reports are that about 4 o'clock, residents heard screams.
They later saw the house engulfed in flames. Leroy's mother, who had chop wounds and his sister, who was badly burnt, were seen outside.
They told residents that Leroy was still inside the burning house. However, no one could assist him.
Residents made mention that the accused attacker and his girlfriend had been seen in regular arguments, the latest being Tuesday evening.
