Local manufacturers feel the diplomatic pinch as T&T products are being removed from the shelves of stores in Jamaica. After being refused entry to our country in March, Jamaicans called on fellow nationals to boycott T&T goods.
As we hear in this exclusive report from Urvashi Tiwari-Roopnarine, the Trade Minister Paula Gopee-Scoon says the situation is disappointing for the economy and for Caricom relations.
One person commented saying: 'This is not only because Jamaicans were deported , its mainly because Jamaican products were not given a fair share of the market in TT as TT products were in Jamaica , it has been proven on numerous occasion that jamaican goods stay on tt wharves until they have reached expiry date , then they are returned'
