A businesswoman and her family were attacked by gunmen on Sunday after she was trailed to her home in East Kingston and held hostage by robbers who were demanding money.
The businesswoman, whose name is being withheld resisted to the demands and was hit in the face several times.
Her handbag which contained a licensed firearm, money and a mobile phone were taken.
Not satisfied, the gunmen demanded that she tell her relatives who were locked inside to open the door.
The smart woman co-operated and the door was opened.
Her son, a licensed firearm holder open the door with guns already blazing killing both gunmen.
A 3rd accomplice who was outside waiting fled the scene.
After the smoke cleared, the woman's license firearm and other valuables were recovered, also an illegal sub-machine gun the dead men carried.
The man was shot in the spine and his 1-year-old daughter also hit in the shoulder, both were treated at the hospital.
Our news team understands that the woman's husband had died at the hands of gunmen during a robbery some years ago.
One of the dead men has been identified, Andrew Smith.
The police revealed that Smith had logged several complaints of police victimization to the media as well as human rights groups.
Smith stated he was being harassed and abused by the police.
Police say Smith was wanted for several robberies and shootings in the co-operate area of Kingston.
