A 21-year-old Corporate Area man who attempted to flee a St Ann community after being accused of sexually assaulting a female child there a week ago, was allegedly stabbed and beaten to death by an angry mob on Sunday.
The man's body was found by the police near Old Fort Bay, close to the St Ann end of the Edward Seaga Highway in St Ann.
The deceased has been identified as Akeem Harrison, otherwise called ‘Boysie’ or ‘Blacks’ of Red Hills Road, St Andrew and Marley district, Windsor Heights, St Ann’s Bay, St Ann.
Information is that the mother of the child confronted Harrison about the reported sexual assault, but the allegation was denied.
Harrison then reportedly decided to leave the community, but on Sunday at about 3:20 p.m., he was set upon, beaten and stabbed multiple times by an angry mob after being pointed out near Mammee Bay, St Ann.
Harrison’s lifeless body was taken to the hospital by the Police where he was pronounced dead.
The Police are again appealing to persons to desist from taking the law into their own hands as the practice is illegal.
The death came hours after the gruesome discovery of the body of 14-year-old Raven Wilson, a student of Ocho Rios High School, who was reported missing since Friday.
The body was found in a garbage bag with wounds to the head in bushes close to her home in Top Road, St Ann's Bay in the parish.
The two killings on Sunday bring to 34 the number of homicides that have been recorded in the parish so far this year.
