'Hit Man' Died in Hospital After Being Stabbed by 1 of 2 Men He attacked

A man who was disarmed by a gunshot victim and taken into police custody after he carried out a deadly attack at a shop in Muirton Pen, near Reach in Portland on Monday, has died as a result of stab wounds he had received in the encounter.

The alleged gunman has been identified as Lincoln Francis, alias ‘Daddy Links’, of Greenwich Farm in St Andrew.

The police revealed that Francis received stab wounds during a tussle between him and one of the gunshot victims on Monday afternoon.

Francis had been under police guard in hospital, and was intended to be questioned in relation to the gun attack that resulted in the death of 28-year-old farmer, Ryan Sinclair, of Reach district.

But he died on Tuesday.

Investigators believe that Sinclair's death was a contract killing.

Interestingly, both Francis and Sinclair were among three men charged in relation to a murder case that is before the Portland Parish Court.

Meanwhile, the wounded man, who was being hailed for his efforts in apprehending his attacker, remains hospitalised in a stable condition.

The Port Antonio police reported that on Monday at about 4:15 p.m., two men were at a shop when another man entered and posed as a customer.

After reportedly ordering cigarettes, the man pulled a gun and opened fire at the two men.

It is alleged that Sinclair received multiple gunshot wounds, while the other patron was struck in the upper body.

But despite being injured, the man with the single upper body injury tussled with the gunman, and successfully disarmed him of the illegal weapon.

The police were summoned, and upon their arrival, the gunman was taken into custody and a 9mm Beretta pistol and two magazines containing several rounds of ammunition were seized.
