Police say they have apprehended a third suspect in connection to the killing of Petrice Porteous, the 21-year-old woman, whose body was found in a shallow grave in the parish of Hanover on Sunday afternoon.
The suspect was held during an operation in the parish.
Police said Porteous, a 21-year-old mother, was last seen alive on Tuesday, February 13 in the company of a man said to be her boyfriend.
A report was made to the police after family members tried to contact Porteous and realized that she was missing.
The male suspect, (the man who Porteous was last seen with) and his mother were taken into police custody and questioned in connection with the death.
The woman was later released, after the body of Porteous was discovered by a search party in a shallow grave in bushes in an area known as Kew Top still in the parish. Her son remains in custody.
Police said since the release of the woman they have received new information that has led them to a second man who they believe can provide them with information regarding the murder.
The new suspect is now being questioned by detectives from the parish.
Porteous last moment was recorded on a video just days before her death.
