Escapee Found Badly Beaten And Tied-up Under Bridge in Tivoli

A prison escapee, who was yesterday found under a bridge in Tivoli Gardens, Kingston with his hands and feet bound, is now back in police custody.

The police said 27-year-old Kevin Thomas, otherwise called 'Tattan' or 'Tafari' of McKenzie Drive in Tivoli Gardens, escaped from the Denham Town Lock-up in September 2016

He had been charged with breaches of the Firearm Act.

Thomas was reportedly found under the bridge about 1:00 pm.

The police were alerted and he was taken to hospital for treatment and is now under police guard, informed the Jamaica Constabulary Force's (JCF) Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) in a release today.

The police are reminding the public that it is an offence to harbour a criminal and are commending the members of the public who assisted with the recapturing of this fugitive.
