Female Cop Shoots Partner in The Buttocks During Arrest In St Ann

The parish of St Ann recorded its first murder for the New Year in which a 21-year-old man was stabbed to death who had a dispute at a popular beach area in Ocho Rios on Monday.

The culprits, who attempted to escape in a motorcar, were intercepted by police officers along a roadway, where they were apprehended.

The deceased man has been identified as Akeem Gardner of Pimento Walk in the parish.

Reports of the incident were that about 3:50 p.m., Gardner was at the Little Dunn’s River beach, when an argument developed between him and another man.

The man's brother subsequently intervened in the argument, and the fuss escalated to the point where the brother reportedly used a knife to stab Gardner.

Gardner was assisted to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The killer and his brother were making their escape in a Toyota Pro Box motorcar, when they were intercepted by a team of police officers along the Mammee Bay main road outside Ocho Rios.

The two men reportedly alighted from vehicle and an argument developed between them and the police personnel.

The argument then led to a physical tussle between one of the men and one of the police officers. A policewoman among the team of officers responded by pulling her service pistol and firing two shots.

Her aim was reportedly well off target, as one of the shots hit a policeman in his buttocks.

The cops, however, managed to successfully arrest the murder accused and the other man, who were both taken into custody.

The policeman, who was accidentally shot, was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released.
