Man Committed Suicide After Slashing Wife's Throat Who Survived

A man, whose body was found in a tank Tuesday morning, is suspected to have committed suicide after reportedly attempting to murder his wife at their home in Powell Town, Southfield in St Elizabeth.

The deceased has been identified as 51-year-old Nigel Gayle.

According to the Junction Police, information received indicated that the couple had a dispute about 8:00 am. It escalated and during the altercation, Gayle allegedly used an instrument to slash his wife's throat. 

It was also reported that afterwards, he was found floating in a nearby tank.

Police said that Gayle was pronounced dead at hospital while his wife was treated and released.
