Jamaican Cops to Be Armed With Body Cameras Soon

A project in which members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force will start wearing body cameras will be launched on Thursday.

{xtypo_dropcap}T{/xtypo_dropcap}he Body Worn Camera Project, will be launched by the JCF and the Embassy of the United States of America at the Office of the Commissioner of Police on Old Hope Road, St Andrew.

The project, which is a collaborative initiative between the JCF and the US Embassy, marks the United States' continued commitment to assisting the JCF to use modern technologies to improve its transparency and responsiveness to human rights concerns.

Among the dignitaries who will attend the ceremony will be Minister of National Security, Robert Montague; Commissioner of Police, Dr Carl Williams and United States Ambassador to Jamaica, Luis Moreno.
