A manager of a gas station was murdered while working in Morant Bay, St Thomas late Saturday evening. Dead is Tanisha McCool, 32, of a York District, Seaforth address in the parish.
A report from the Morant Bay police indicated that Tanisha was sitting on a stool at the Petcom Gas Station where she worked, when she was approached by a lone gunman around 9:20pm.
Loud explosions were heard; Tanisha was found lying on the floor with gunshot wounds on her upper body. The news team understands that the unknown assailant escaped on foot in the area.
She was rushed to hospital where she died while undergoing treatment. No motive has been established for the killing as it seemed that the business was not robbed in the process.
However, while the police’s investigations into the shooting death of McCool begin, family and close friends were devastated when news spread of her untimely demise on Sunday.
One close friend told Loop News that everyone has taken her death really hard.
“Am going crazy right now…cause we were all looking forward to girl’s night out last night. It’s hard but we coping…not sure when it will get easier,” she said.
The woman, who requested anonymity, added that “[Tanisha] was a star….loving, kind, loved her kids more than anything, she values friendship and she was never afraid to speak her mind, she was a fashionista.
She was really cool, down to earth and never hype at all always remained grounded, she was a hard worker and she loved life…sad as hell cause she is her mother’s only child…her death is untimely and sad.”
