Man Electrocuted In Attempt To Reconnect Illegal Light In St Catherine

Just days after highlighted high rate of electricity theft  in some communities in St. Catherine, a man from the area has reportedly lost his life through electrocution from an illegally connected wire.

It is reported that the man who has only been identified by his alias, stingerman, is a resident of Five Miles in Sligoville.

According to residents, the man was electrocuted last Friday at about 8:30.p.m after he tried to reconnect an illegal wire which was disconnected by the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) contractors.

“The wire hold him fi bout 3 minutes and sucked him out dry, when him drop a grung him look like paper,” one resident exaggerated.

The Sligoville police have confirmed that they heard of the incident, but said it has not yet been reported to them.
