Hurricane Irma has been listed as one of the strongest storms ever recorded in history which has claimed many lives within its distructive path.
Despite not feeling the full effect of these storms, there was this one sad incident in St Thomas, Jamaica Where a woman was killed after she was reportedly struck by lightning at her home in Port Morant yesterday.
She has been identified as 33-year-old Marsha Whyte of Works Yard in the community.
According to an article from The Gleaner, Whyte was at home when she went to catch water from an outside pipe during the heavy rains, it was then she was struck during a lightning storm.
Whyte was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A post mortem is to be conducted to determine the cause of death.
