Trelawny Man Gets 'Clap Weh' Pointing Unlicensed Gun at Police

TRELAWNY, Jamaica – A Trelawny man was shot and killed at his home during an alleged confrontation with members of the security forces early Thursday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Denoby Prichard of Water Lane, Falmouth in the parish.

Reports are that about 5:15 am, members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force led a police/military team to Prichard's house to serve him a warrant. 

It is alleged that Prichard pointed a gun at members of the security forces who had entered the house. He was sh subsequently shot.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition were reportedly seized during the operation.
