Unexpected Twist: Police Seek Deceased 'Abusive' Boyfriend in Connection With Murder

The man implicated in the stabbing death of his 17 year old daughter at their home on Barry Street in East Kingston on Sunday morning, is in hospital under police guard.

Reports are that Terrence Calvert attempted to commit suicide.

Another man, who’s reportedly the boyfriend of the 17 year old, is also in police custody in relation to the matter.

Seventeen year old Shedeque Calvert was stabbed to death on Sunday morning.

Initial reports suggested that her father, Terrence Calvert was the man who wielded the knife.

 

He fled the scene shortly after the incident on Sunday morning.

 

Head of the Constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit, SSP Stephanie Lindsay says Terrence Calvert survived a suicide attempt and is in custody.

Shedeque’s adult boyfriend is also in the custody of the police.

Shedeque’s paternal aunt, told our news centre that the teenager was involved in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend.

She says minutes before her niece’s demise, she was physically abused by the boyfriend.

Shedeque’s aunt says the family is distressed at this time.

Shedeque was Terrence Calvert’s only child.
