The body was still unidentified up to press time, police reported.
According to reports, around 5:15 pm, residents saw what appeared to be a body on fire and summoned the police.
Upon arrival, lawmen called the fire brigade. A unit from the Trench Town Fire Station extinguished the blaze.
The body was later removed to the morgue.
