Self-proclaimed Jesus Life And Wife in Danger As Locals Threatens To 'Crucifix' Him This Easter

Self-declared Jesus, a man from Tongaren in Bungoma County now says his life and that of his wife are in danger.

The founder of New Jerusalem sect claimed that residents are threatening to crucify him like the real, biblical Jesus Christ this Easter, the same time when Christians all over the world commemorate the death and resurrection of the Messiah.

According to the Bungoma Jesus, locals argue that he will resurrect on the third day if he is Jesus indeed. However, the Bungoma Jesus, whose real name is Eliud Wekesa, has reported the matter to the police. He is seeking police protection to thwart any attempts to harm him or any member of his family.

He insists that toying with the idea of putting him on the cross was evil, even as his critics maintain that he should pay the price like the real Jesus Christ to gain credibility. Bungoma Jesus has attained significant clout in recent months for his controversial teachings and declaring himself the real Jesus.

In February, he claimed that only a handful of Kenyans will see heaven. His followers have been heaping praises on him, saying he has proven beyond doubt that he is the original Jesus.

A few weeks ago, he allegedly performed a miracle that entailed changing water to tea in a ceremony.

This miracle, however, could not be verified.
