Wife Has Left Me For Greener Pastures

I have a problem and I hope you can give me words of encouragement. I am in my late 40s and I am living alone. I am married, but my wife has left me for greener pastures.

The plan was for her to return after one year, but now three years have passed and it does not seem as if she will return.

In fact, she told me that her mind has changed about coming back to Jamaica, and I should move on with my life if I feel like doing so. She has not told me that she has found another man, but I spoke to some of her people and they told me not to waste my time waiting on her to return.

I cannot believe that after waiting so long to be married, my wife would leave me for another man. I asked her what was my biggest fault and she said it was my height.

When we were dating, she used to tease me sometimes about my height. Even when we got married, she did not wear heels because it would make her appear to be much taller than me.

We do not have children. We have a home that we got from the National Housing Trust, and since she has been away, I have been paying the mortgage on my own.

Now that I know that she is not coming back to me, I don't see the sense in paying it. I know we will lose it if I stop paying the mortgage.

Since we got married, I have been paying an insurance policy for her; that, too, I want to stop. However, the insurance agent told me not to stop paying it.

I am unlucky with women. Every woman that I have had, I have given my all and they always disappoint me. I don't even have a visa. I never intended to leave Jamaica.

I have relatives in America and they have invited me. But if I go, I don't want to see my wife. She might not want to see me, either. Please tell me what to do.

R.P.
