6-Y-O Girl Shot in The Head Minutes After 12; Bullet 'FLY' Through Zinc

A six-year-old girl is now in stable condition in hospital after being hit by a bullet inside her home in Lenwood Path, St Andrew just minutes after 12 midnight, New Year’s Day.

Police reports were that the child was asleep in her bed when she was shot in the head.

Indications are that the child’s mother was awakened by screaming coming from the child at about 12:40 a.m. on Sunday.

The mother who went to investigate that matter discovered her daughter had been shot.

Investigators have indicated that the bullet penetrated the zinc roof of the home where the child was, resulting in the injury to her.

The investigations continue into the incident.
