Chainsaw Used to Slice Man's Gut in Altercation Over Fire Wood

A dispute between two men in St Thomas has left one hospitalized from injuries sustained after being attacked with a chainsaw in St. Thomas.

According to reports, the incident took place on Tuesday at about 7:00am in a community district known as Logwood also in the parish.

It is further understood that the altercation had stemmed from a disagreement over stolen wood being burnt to make charcoal.

A tossel ensued after one began blaming the other for stealing from him.

Things further got heated and turned more physical, with one man using a chainsaw to badly cut the other across his abdomen.

The injured man was taken to hospital where he was admitted under a serious condition, while his attacker was taken into police custody.

It is unclear at this time whether the injuries sustained are life-threatening.
