5-Y-O Child Survived Deadly Crash Which Killed Mother in Clarendon

An employee of the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) died in a motor vehicle crash late on Friday in which her five-year-old son, who was in the vehicle which the mother drove, came out virtually unscratched.

The crash took place on the Sevens Estate road in Clarendon.

Reports from the police are that Kimberly Risden, 30, who was attached to the Summerfield Girls' Home in the parish, was found inside her Honda CRV motor vehicle which had overturned in bushes.

But intriguingly, her five-year-old son was also found in the vehicle, but in a far better physical shape.

The two were taken to hospital, where Risden was pronounced dead and the child was treated and released.

The crash reportedly occurred after a shower of rain left the road surface wet in the poorly lit area.
