National Commercial Bank (NCB) has lauded security officers for their quick response after a man pulled a gun inside the hallway at the financial institution's Half Way Tree branch in St Andrew on Thursday.
Reports are that at sometime in the afternoon a man became boisterous inside the bank and sent others frantically scampering for safety when he pulled a handgun from his waist.
A video of the incident shows people running for cover before the gun-toting man is seen being escorted out of the building by about five security guards.
In a statement late Thursday, NCB said it has referred the matter to the relevant authorities for investigation.
"Our security personnel were effective in managing and containing the situation within a few minutes and no one inside the branch was harmed," said the company in a statement, adding "We commend our security team on their swift response and assure our customers and employees that their safety is our priority."
It is unclear what triggered the man's outburst.
