Pregnant Woman Sprayed With Bullets; Westmoreland's Deadly Easter Attack

A woman, who was in an advanced state of pregnancy, was shot and killed by criminals in the parish of Westmoreland on Thursday.

The woman, who was killed in the deadly Easter attack, has been identified as Lavern Poyser.

Reports are that 4:15 p.m., residents heard explosions in the Morgan's Bridge section of the parish and called the police.

On the arrival of the police, Poyser was found lying on the floor inside her house, with gunshot wounds.

She was taken to the Savanna-la-mar Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The macabre attack has reportedly left some residents in the parish in shock, and has cut short their plans to celebrate Easter.
