Two Shot Dead, Firearm Recovered; Cops on Operation Cleans Kingston

A man who police said was on their wanted list was shot dead during a reported operation in Sunlight Street, Trench Town, Kingston on Saturday.

Police said one .38 revolver was recovered as they swooped down on the area.

Reports are that about 6:50 a.m., a team of officers was on patrol  in the area when the man, whose name has not yet been released, was seen acting in a suspicious manner.

Reports from the Constabulary Communication Network, the police information arm, is that police approached the man and there was a ‘confrontation’.

Police did not provide details of the reported confrontation but said that the man was shot dead during the reported encounter.

One .38 revolver with three rounds of ammunition were seized.

Sunlight Street, Trench Town

Less than one hour after the incident in Trench Town another man was reportedly shot and killed during another police operation this time in the downtown Kingston area.

Sources declared that the man, who has still not been identified, was fatally shot close to the market district.

Police have not yet provided details on that incident but said the man who was killed was a person of interest and believed to be behind a number of robberies and attacks in the Kingston Western Police Division.
