2 Elder Dead 2 Others Injured After Family Dispute in Pennants, Clarendon

Two men are now dead and their nephew in police custody following events stemming from an ongoing family dispute in Clarendon.

Sixty-seven-year-old farmer Desmond McKenzie died on the spot while his brother Cecil McKenzie, who is a 60-year-old mechanic, died at hospital.

The two residents of Pennants District were allegedly chopped by their nephew after an altercation developed at the nephew's home about 7:15 last night.

A third man turned up at the Chapelton hospital where he was treated and transferred to the May Pen hospital where he has been admitted.

It’s reported that a fourth man is also believed to be injured but is yet to be found.

The police say the accused was at home and in the process of moving out his belongings to relocate when a car drove up to his gate and four men alighted and began hitting him.

According to The Gleaner, he managed to grab a machete which he used to inflict the deadly wounds to his alleged attackers.

Investigators say several shots were also fired.
