St James police are seeking a man who is described as a person of interest into Tuesday’s fatal stabbing of a hairdresser in William Street, Montego Bay.
The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Kemmy Richards, popularly called Mindy Tights of Paradise Rowe Lane, near to North Gully in the parish.
Reports are that the popular hairdresser and another man had a dispute near to her home when a knife was brought into play.
She received a stab to the neck and died on the spot.
The news team understands that the popular hairdresser intended to construct a house near to where she lived and asked a labourer to bush a lot to commence the process.
It is alleged that, in the process of bushing the lot, the labourer accidentally cut down a fruit tree, which angered a man who claimed he planted it.
When the man who claimed to have planted the fruit tree inquired why it was cut down, he was informed that the hairdresser had given instructions to fall the tree.
This resulted in a confrontation between the man, who is said to be a “deportee”, and the hairdresser, which escalated into a fight.
