Female Cop Who Was Attacked in Dunkirk Dies From Gunshot Wounds

The female corporal who was shot multiple times by gunmen on Thursday has succumbed to her injuries. The deceased has been identified as Judith Williams. Family members confirmed her death a short while ago.

"She passed away at hospital after midnight," Britney Harris, Williams' daughter said. The news of the death has sent shock waves across the island and among her colleagues who on Thursday came out in their numbers to support a desperate call to donate blood to aid the 54-year-old as she fought bravely for her life in hospital.

Reports are that Williams was in the east Kingston community of McIntyre Villa, also known as Dunkirk, when she was attacked and shot at least six times by gunmen.

She was assigned to the police commissioner's office.
