Gunmen Rampage Through St James Immediately After ZOSO

Crime scene investigators in St James were kept busy within 24 hours between Saturday and yesterday as gunmen went on a rampage throughout the parish leaving seven dead and others injured.

Some of those killed have since been identified as 39-year-old Richard Campbell, 37-year-old Andrew Lewis, 24-year-old Sharvorna 'Crissy' Brown a chef of Spot Valley, and Jhevon 'Scar' James, 25, of Paradise Crescent address.

Up to press time, the identities of the other three males killed were not ascertained.

Our news team also understands that a 19-year-old male was also injured in one of the incidents that took place in Catherine Hall.

Information gathered was that the latest killing took place in Rose Heights yesterday morning about 6 o'clock, when an unidentified male was found with gunshot wounds.

On the day before, however, there was greater bloodshed when seven persons were shot.

In Mount View, Barnett Hall, police were summoned after loud explosions were heard about 6:15 a.m. They found Campbell lying face down in a pool of blood.

About 12:30 p.m., in Salt Spring, a 28-year-old unidentified male was found in a yard with gunshot wounds to his head.

It is further understood that an hour and a half later, in Norwood Gardens, family members discovered the body of Lewis, a farmer, after residents reported hearing gunfire coming from his home.

Later in the day, investigators were again called to Shanty Town, Norwood, where an unidentified male was killed by unknown assailants at a car wash.

The other two murder stats were recorded on Leaders Avenue at about 11:30 p.m., when two men were found in a motor car with gunshot wounds.
