3 Gunmen Shot 2 Fatally When They Challenged an Off-duty Cop

Two of three gunmen were fatally shot when they tried to attack an off-duty police officer in the Golden Spring area of St Andrew. An illegal firearm containing several live rounds was recovered.

The other gunman who was also shot and wounded has since been admitted to the Kingston Public Hospital in serious condition under heavy police guard.

Reports by the St Andrew police are that, on Monday afternoon May 15th, 2017 the off-duty police was at a location in Golden Spring when he was ambushed by the three men who were armed with handguns. The gunmen fired on the officer who took evasive action and discharged several rounds from his service pistol hitting all three men multiple times.

Following the shooting, all three gunmen who were still unidentified up to news time were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds. They were transported to the hospital where two were pronounced dead and the other man admitted in serious condition.
